Objective: Upon completion of this lesson, students should be able to:
- Know what the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is, means, and is used for
- Know how to calculate definite integrals using the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus
- Know how the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is used in finding displacement.
- Know how the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus can be used to find coordinates of the integral function
- Know how to use a calculator to find definite integrals
- Know how to calculate average values of functions using integrals
- Know the Second Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and how it is used
Lesson Questions:
- What is the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and what can it be used for?
- How can you find the average value of a function? Remember this is very different than finding an average rate of a function.
- What is the Second Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and what is it used for?
